STUDIO BIERLA

Lauren Alyssa Bierly launched Studio BIERLA, an affordable project management and consultation studio for artists, in 2021 after nine years of production management with The Costume Institute at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts collectively. Studio BIERLA was created to connect artists with fabricators in NYC based on compatibility of project requirements and fabrication services. Studio services include fabrication consultation, project management, and creative support. Bierly has maintained relationships with designers, fabricators, and digital vendors across NYC including New Project, Bednark Studios, Hudson Scenic, Konduit, Powerhouse Arts, Tillotson Design Associates, Dot Dash, Lamb Design Inc., World Stage, Frost Productions, Frank Glover Productions, 3LD Media + Theater Group, Modern Art Foundry, among others.

SERVICE RATES

Project Management + Creative Support for Artists
Rate: $30-60/hour
- Meet & greet consultation free (1 hr)
- Hourly rate negotiable regarding project scope
- Minimum 5 hours per week
- Services include: support in fabrication discussions, meetings,
presentations; advisory on fabrication partner(s) and processes; 
management of production timelines, budgets, scheduling; tracking
deliverables between artist and partner(s); creative support (design
solutions, fabrication drawings, presentation prep); lead regular
​production meetings. 

Fabrication Consultation for Artists
Rate: $45/hour or $125 flat fee
- Meet & greet consultation (1 hr) free w/ hourly rate
- Hourly rate applies if more than 3 hours
- Flat fee if 3 hours or less
- Services include: advisory on fabrication partner(s) and processes;
​research on production methods; studio visits.
